Hi everyone! I just wanted to say a quick thank you for being here and reading through this post. Your support of Jadyn and Larissa Elizabeth Photography is so appreciated! I am super excited to show off these images of Jadyn so we can all celebrate just how amazing she is!
For Jadyn's session, we knew we wanted to have three main vibes: (1) an edgy, urban vibe, (2) an athletic, sporty vibe, and (3) a natural, Colorado vibe. I love it when my seniors want to show off multiple sides like this because we know that our seniors are not one dimensional. There are so many amazing sides to who they are and I really think that senior portraits should reflect that!
So to start the session, we headed to Old Town, Fort Collins to snag some urban images. This is a popular location to use for senior images but I don't think that means that people should shy away from it. It has so many nooks and crannies and the way we incorporate outfits and looks, we can really make it unique to each senior. On the day of Jadyn's session, we did have a little rain to contend with so to start we sought some refuge in a parking garage and made it work to our advantage and then we went out to alleys once the rain stopped.
An urban, downtown location has so much to offer in a photoshoot. I love when my seniors want to use a location like Old Town since we can really get a lot of variety in poses. And while we are on that subject, sometimes posing is a huge fear that seniors have. I always let them know that I am there to help them and that the number one trick is being comfortable and doing what comes naturally. From there, I can make little adjustments so that the images are not overly posed or stiff but look natural and just like you.
Didn't Jadyn just nail this cool vibe?? I love how this all came together so well for her urban vibe. Next up, we drove over to her high school track to capture some images in her track uniform. I love how this was just a whole other side of who Jadyn is and its such a big part of high school and her future plans. I wanted to capture her fierce competitive side as well as show off how hard working and driven she is to accomplish her goals.
After we wrapped things up on the track, we headed out to the foothills for a natural location that really felt like Colorado. Jadyn opted for some great looks that included a black skirt, yellow top, and great black booties that added such a great pop of color out among the bushes and grasses along the foothills.
We also had to sneak in her super cute puppy, Mags. Peep that matching bandana for all the heart eyes!
The last detail we wanted to have with this outfit was Jadyn's Jeep. I love it when seniors incorporate their cars. I think they are such a symbol of freedom and maturity and its fun to show off that part of them as well.
And for her last look, Jadyn opted for a dress and cardigan that really complimented the colors around her. By this point in the session, she was so comfortable and was really rocking it in front of the camera. I love that we were able to end on such a high note!
I am so dang blessed to be able to do this senior portrait photographer thing. I love getting to know these seniors and helping them design a session that is really reflective of who they are and what they are all about. Getting to create these images of them and really just dig into what they are passionate about and showcasing that is pretty amazing to get to be a part of. I feel so honored to get to do this!
I would be honored to capture portraits of your senior as well! And the way that I do that is really unique and sets me apart as a photographer. I talk more about my Ultimate Senior Portrait Experience over on my website if you are interested in hearing more about it. And when you are ready to get your session booked for your senior, you can contact me here. I am so excited to create these images with you all and celebrate your senior!
