Now don't let the title of this blog fool you - just like Maddie, this post includes volleyball but is also so much more than that. If you know Maddie at all, you know that she is a pretty awesome volleyball player and is even headed to play it in college but she is also stunning, and hard working, a loyal friend, and has some spunk to her. It was so much fun capturing both the softer sides and the fierce sides of who she is.
Our session started out in downtown Loveland for an urban vibe. We started down in the brick alleyways and with the buildings around us we were able to create that city feel. Check out this adorable red top and how Maddie totally rocks it!
After that, we did a quick change of clothes and headed up to the top of the parking garage. I love the clean look of the concrete parking lot as well as the view. It provided a great look to compliment Maddie's top and jeans. The sun was shining bright and even though it was warm, you can't even tell because Maddie was just totally killing it!
Next we decided to change up the location to something more natural. Bobcat Ridge is a beautiful spot out near Masonville, just west of Loveland and it provided a fun, rustic feel with the barn and fencing for us to start. Just a quick change in shorts and Maddie had a whole other look for her session.
Just behind this barn, we set up for the next part of the session. Maddie and her mom lugged the most perfect antique chair out to the perfect grassy patch for us to use. After a quick change into a classic white dress, we were ready to create some more stunning images.
And maybe by now you have already had the thought "uh, what about the volleyball??" Oh don't you worry... I got you! Or rather, Maddie has got you because not only was she able to get us access to the perfect sand volleyball court in her neighborhood, but she was also so ready to sport her college t-shirt and high school uniform. I am so glad we were able to capture these images for her and I love how they just rounded out her session perfectly.
And that, ladies and gentlemen, was how we wrapped this session. The sun was setting on the perfect summer evening and we knew we had really created some amazing portraits. Just like in Maddie's session, I always strive to capture all the different facets of each senior. I know seniors aren't one, two, or even three dimensional but rather they have many parts that make up who they are. It's important to design a session that doesn't just show glimpses of these different sides but rather highlights, honors, and celebrates these things. Maddie is strong and determined, she is confident and poised, she is funny and kind, and she is fierce and committed. She is too many things for one outfit or location to portray and I bet your senior is the same way.
I would love to connect to chat more about your senior and to design the perfect session to highlight what they are all about and what they dream to be.
